On my A&E Awning on my slide which was replaced in Oct is not locking at the end point, This is the first time we have been in very windy condtions since the reinstall, I don't have access to ladder here.
Anyone know what to do to lock it in place at its end point, I afraid its damaging the material again which was the reason it was replaced.
I have a call into the place that replaced it but still no call back, it will back at there shop Monday, for sure since if nothing else they are going to replace it again.

The awning does not lock into a position when extended. Different devices have been used to help in the fabric form flapping about. Beach ball between roof and fabric is one. PVC built supports and clips at edges is another. In a storm you may want to bring the slide out in until it is over.
There is not need to take it to the shop for this issue, provided they put the right out of tension on the springs.

Yes after looking I also determined it just was never tensioned it appears after it was replaced, so it just unravels and flops in the wind and then winds back in wind wind let down. It was also tearing again they main reason it was replaced the first time. So going to see about having this one retensioned and seeing if I can get another under warranty again, Since it was replaced in Oct 09.

Spring tension rules. When our slide awnings were installed, the techs tightened the springs so much that the slide would not extend at the top completely. After they relaxed spring tension the fabric pops and bellows in medium wind. Gotta buy some beach balls I guess.

The main issue is I don't think they put enough tension it looked good if there was no wind, but with wind its allowing the awning to unwind all the way out, Its on the full wall slide would need a few balls...The worst part is trying to explain to the place my postion on the fact it was working ok when I brought it in the first time, and you guys got another cover under warranty and replaced it and now it unrolls and never really got a answer to the fact that they would take blame for not reinstalling correct.
Also while there figured I would ask price to install my front Koni Shocks, figured worst case someone with a impact wrench 30min top to change them out, O that would be 114.00.. Thats ok can do them myself.

I will add that I have had to bring my slides in a couple of times. The wind has set my MH to rocking so bad that it scared me enough to sleep with the slides in.
I lost one topper before on my old 5er due to wind on the beach at Beverly Beach. Don't want to have to replace another.

In hind site, beginning to think when I discovered what was going on I should have pulled it in that eveing, once I was able to stablize it from unwinding really didn't have anymore issues.
