Our Gulfstream has two slides. The electric motor one is fine. The hydraulic / cable system slide has started "sticking". That is, it functions but will slow or stop in mid slide. I can push on it and get it to finish going in or out, but without my push it just cant do it. Unfortunately I lubed it with Camping World dry lube slide lube which has become "sticky" and I believe "may" be the cause.

Ideas?

There is a square tube runner (tube in tube design) and I cleaned it well with a solvent. Then sprayed with a very thin PTFE spray just to try and get it cleaned out but no help.

Tks for ideas.

As long as there is nothing going for a ride under your floor or bed framing slide it 'MAY" be your sticky cables.
The cables could be slipping on pully as they turn through them.
I had a slipper get caught under the floor portion of bed and was a son of a gun to get out had to crawl in under bed.
I would keep cleaning I wonder if Goo- be- Gone might work to desolve the stickyness.
Your MFG should be able to tell you what to use or it may be in your manual.
RV Wizard has a GS maybe he will have a answer for you.

Good point on slipper. While I saw one roller while cleaning the square tube runners, I did not go through the steps of inspecting each one.

Thanks for your time.

Are you sure it is sticking? Ours does what you described -starting and stopping - when not used for a while and it turns out to be a poor electrical connection.

Initial steps I took:
1. Changed hyd fluid which appears to have needed it.
2. Lubed everything with silicone.
3. Downloaded the manual.

The manual saved me.
Turns out one of the 2 hyd cylinders had its rod end locknut come off and so only 1 of 2 cylinders was actually doing the work, hence the hesitation and appearance of sticking.

Using the manual I reattached it and also adjusted the nuts for correct seal tightness both when open and when closed.

Anyway, tks all for info.
