I have a problem with the washer and dryer. I need help!! When the washer goes into the rinse cycle the water doesn't shut off. it keeps going. You have to turn the values off and then it works fine. Ihave contacted Spendide with no help. If anybody has had this problem and can help please let me know. Thanks Herhsey

No help from Splendide? Hard to believe - their service guy is terrific. Did they walk you through the diagnostic steps for the water fill system, i.e. the water level sensor and the relay that opens and closes the fill valves? Seems like it has to be one or the other. Or a bad control board.

Hershey, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. What water temperature is the rinse cycle set on? Have you tried it on the same water temperature in the wash cycle? Does it do the same (over fill)? I would re-call Westland (Splendide - USA) and get some assistance; as Gary has said they usually are always very helpful.

Hershey,

Are you saying that the water keeps filling the machine and doesnt stop? - have you got access to the rear of the machine and can see any water spillage - or even water coming out of the external vent for a vented washer/dryer?

If so, I think you could have a small hole (even pinhole size) in a thin rubber tube which runs from the bottom right side of the machine up to the sensor / pressure valve.

We had this problem a few months ago.

Now, as this type of machine is common in the UK, we managed to find an old machine outisde someones house and they let us have the rubber hose/tube.

You will need to get the machine out of its housing and lie it on its left side. Looking from the underside of the machine you will see the thin rubber tube which is held by a small clip.

You can then remove the machine lid and see where that tube goes into the sensor/valve.

Honestly, it is not a difficult job to do - if I can do it, anyone can.

From start to finish (removing machine to putting back) it took under 2hrs - including a couple of coffee breaks.

Please let us know how you get on.

Paul

Hershey,

I had a similar sounding problem with mine. Sometimes the cold water would not shut off. I found that there is a metal heat shield attached to the inside of the top. It was attached with some kind of adhesive. The adhesive failed, allowing the shield to drop down on top the drum and in doing so shorted out the ground wire from the cold water valve.

The problem may be intermittent because when the drum moves around, it moves the shield, which may cause the short to be intermittent.

The valve is on the left rear, but the wire was shorted to the shield at the right front. I reattached the shield, repaired the wire, and it has worked fine ever since.

BTW, Splendide said that they never heard of my problem.

Good luck
