Splendide door issue
Have a Splendide washer/dryer and it just started locking us out. Door wont open after it finishes cycle and moving the selector to other OFF positions dosent seem to help.
Any quick tricks or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Crowbar?
Probably better to call the distributor help line listed in the manual. They're supposed to be very good.

What model Splendide do you have? On the one we have (WD 2100XC) you can press and hold the "Start" button and the machine will reset.
It could also be the door lock solenoid
But as MR_D indicated, call the helpline and ask them. They are pretty darn good at customer service.

I just dealt with this same thing, it's the door lock solenoid. There is apparently some part in there that is supposed to unlock it after it cools down, and it wears out over time. I followed this guy's instructions, though I opened mine through the top because I was able to slide it out.

I called Westland Sales regarding the door lock on our 2100XC washer/dryer. They said on this particular model, there's a lock release that located behind the kick panel on the right side. It's a green plastic tab that you pull to release the lock.
They admitted that this feature is not documented anywhere in their manuals. Had I known about the release, it would have saved me several hours of labor repairing the door that I had to pry open to remove our clothes that were trapped in the machine.

Mine takes patience, a lot more than one would think necessary.
To open the door during a WASH cycle:
1. Advance Program Dial to ‘RESET’. Wait 5 seconds.
2. Advance Program Dial to ‘Drain’ (8 o’clock) and allow the machine to drain completely. Listen, the sound will change when the drum is empty. 3. Advance Program Dial to ‘RESET’ (‘Status/Door Lock’ LED will blink quickly to indicate that the cycle has stopped, but the door is STILL LOCKED)
4. When the ‘Status/Door Lock’ LED blinks SLOWLY (takes 1-2 minutes), you can open the door
To open the door during a DRY cycle:
1. Advance Program Dial to ‘RESET’ (The ‘Status/Door Lock’ LED will blink FAST to indicate the cycle has stopped. Wait for the ‘Status/Door Lock’ LED to blink SLOWLY (takes1-2 minutes), you can open the door.

Has nothing with Cool Down.
When did it start?
It seems, you have used this unit for some time.
Remove the bottom panel - there is a emergency release.

I did the same as you. Our handle had broken, ordered a replacement while on the phone asking how to open the door. advice was spot-on,handle arrived 2 days later (I was at Yahats OR anyway).

Splendide Door locking issue
Most of the time the door lock can be "unlocked" by turning off, then back on, the circuit breaker that supplies power, or unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. You will hear a couple of clicks when power is re-supplied. If you hear 5 clicks or so, do it again. Once you hear only 1 or 2 clicks, the door will open. (The problem is indeed with the solenoid plunger sticking and not a real easy fix.)

The final fix:
Put 2 thin washers between the front white panel and the locking mechanism at the attaching screws.
Access the lock thru front gray gasket by rolling it back after carefully removing the round thin strap wire with a screwdriver.
