Splendide leak fix

Opened the basement door under the washer and saw water. Traced it to the washer/dryer combo. There is a small rubber seal in the water pump that takes the water out of the washer when it drains. Opened the back of the washer, pulled the pump, replaced the gasket with a kit from splendid and replaced the washer. All good. Posting this incase anyone else finds a leak. You don't need a new machine.

Thank you. I pulled mine out a week ago. Found water under the unit, now I have to replace the warped floor and fix the washer. This is good news, I was dreading finding and fixing whatever is wrong with washer. Your solution sounds pretty straight forward. Any idea why the seal failed ?

It is very easy fix. Loosen the two hoses from the pump. Pull the two wires and label them so you know which is inboard and which is outboard. Loosen the two screws under the unit that hold the pump. Google search splendid seal replacement and you will find directions on how to replace the seal. They also come with the seal kit. Mine failed due to hard water calcium build up o n the seal and it not seating securely. Put everything back together and you are done.
