I had a ton of problems with my W/D. It kept frying circuit boards. There was never a problem in the wash cycle. It only happened a few minutes after the dry cycle began. After 3 boards and hours on the phone with the Spledide techs, one of the supervisors finally figured it out.
Take off the top of the unit. Under the cover, there is a sheet-metal heat shield. The shield on mine would begin to sag from the heat and make contact with the electronic connectors below, and zap! I wrapped each of the connectors in electrical tape and stuck in a piece of plastic to lift/support the shield in the center. No problems since.
Be careful of the following: (1)Make sure unit is disconnected from electric. (2)If you put something in to support the shield, make sure it will not interfere with any parts (3)Wear gloves and a long sleve shirt. Everything inside has sharp edges designed to make you bleed.
