The water will not drain out of my Washer Dryer. I called the mfg and they felt like the pump was gone. I found a quarter in the drain catcher for the pump and fear it caused the failure. My question is how hard is it to replace the pump if I get one. I think the rep said the pump is on the bottom so you have to turn the unit over to get to it...sounds pretty involved and I am not a mechanic by any means...I was able to get the front wood panel off to get to the clean out for the pump to get the quarter out so I have a good start on that. I still have water in it and I guess I will have to hand dip it out or drain out of the clean out which is a hoot...tks for any input...glen

Just some thoughts I had---

Any way to use a wet or dry vaccum to get the water out? Does your manual have a schematic of the w/d to see how it comes apart--if not can you get one from Splendide or on line.

I have ventured into a w/d before just fumbling my way through and found it not too complicated---but I have no idea about splendide construction---it almost has to be more complicated since it is combo--the hardest thing as I think of my Splendide would be getting it out of the cabinet and out of the coach if necessary. I think I would have one of those flat moving dollies on hand---they are pretty cheap and can be used for many things.

My water pump screen is low on the bottom right front corner, when I remove screen/strainer water drains out of the drum. Is your screen/stainer located in the same place?

I just did some reading on the Splendide website and the coin you found was in a pre chamber and never made it to the pump. That is not a cause--they are designed to empty stuff like keys etc into the chamber.

It would be a shame to take this apart and not have it be the pump.

If you cleaned a quarter out of the pump filter chamber, that is where the pump is - right behind where you found the quarter. You can see the pump impeller when you take the cover off.

Probably the easiest way to reach the pump is to take the washer out and turn it on its side.

The question I have is, can you tell if the pump runs? If it does, something else may be plugging the outlet. One time when ours wouldn't drain, I found a paper clip and a penny in the chamber, and also part of a label that was covering the outlet. If, on the other hand, the pump doesn't run at all, it could be either the pump itself, the main circuit board, or possibly that the cycle timer is bad or isn't in the proper position to trigger the pump to drain.

There are ways to test the pump, the cycle timer and other components; but you need to have access to the back of the washer so you can see the main circuit board. All the components plug into the board, and you can use an ohm meter to check resistances across various terminals on the component plugs.

When we had problems with our Splendide a couple of years ago, I told the tech rep at Westland Sales I had a multi-meter and was capable of doing tests myself, and he emailed me a copy of the repair manual. If you are not comfortable doing electrical tests, maybe a trip to a repair shop is in order before you spend money to replace a component that may not be bad.

Go to the Splindide web site Splendide Combo Washer Dryer Technical Education Site and you will find repair manuals.
Go to Westland Sales - Serving the RV, Marine and Multifamily Housing industries since 1967 for email addresses and phone numbers:

sales@westlandsales.com or phone 1-800-356-0766

To check the pump you can take out the filter where you found the quarter.
Reset the washer by putting the dial on a reset position.
Turn the dial to "Drain" under "Delicates".
Turn the power on. Use a flashlight and look at the impeller in the pump and see if it is turning. Mine was not.

If it is turning you might have a blockage in the drain hose.

A new pump will cost about $133 including shipping.

Call the 800 number on the website. You will select option 5 for parts and most likely end up leaving a message. Leave a message and they will call you back and you can order the part. Make sure you have the model number and serial number of the machine.

Taking the pump out is pretty simple:

Turn the power to the machine off or unplug it.
Turn off the water.
Disconnect the dryer hose.
Pull the machine out.
Lay the machine on its left side and remove the bottom cover (4 screws).
Two screws must be removed from the front of the filter housing.
Turn the pump body slightly to unlatch it and it will come loose.
Use pliers to compress the bands that clamp the two hoses to the pump body.
Pull the wires off the connectors (2)

Westland Sales provided very good customer service. The first pump they sent me turned out to be a European model for 220 V. The box was marked correctly but evidently the wrong pump was put in the box in Italy by accident. I emailed the parts department and they got back to me immediately and shipped a replacement pump immediately.

Hope this has helped.
