Should I be able to do laundry while on the road?
Scenario: On the road. Fresh tank at least half full, if not 3/4 full. Water pump & genny on. When I turn on the washer, the door lock light will rapidly flash (won't go solid lit & lock) & I can hear a series of clicking noises coming from what's probably the washer's control board. I can hear the washer "sucking" as if it's trying to fill, but it keeps cutting out.
I thought the idea of having a W/D on board was so I could do a laundry load while motoring down the highway. In my case, our Splendide does not seem to agree. The washer will work fine when parked & on either the genny or shore power. It just refuses to work while on the road. Am I incorrect in my thinking? Does it not like the pitching & rolling? FWIW, the washer is located in the very back corner, driver's side, of the coach - at the back of a rather long rear-wheel overhang.

Splendide says NO to using it while moving. The drum is mounted using springs, hitting a bump at the right (wrong) time can permanently stretch the springs. I seen posts about that happening.
I suspect you're right about the pitching and rolling. Most washers shut down if the load is unbalanced, that may be what's happening.

Thank you, Mr_D. That makes sense.
For some reason, I can't find my Splendide manual in my portfolio of stuff that came with my coach. Probably should go online & see if I can download one.

When we first got our current rig we tried running the washer/dryer while driving. I seemed to work fine - until it started the spin cycle. I forgot it was running and when the whole rig started shaking I thought the driveshaft was starting to let go or something. Once I figured out what was going on, we had some more laundry to do...

I hear ya, Alan. I think that's what the Low Spin button is for.
On a slightly related subject, I can remember, as a kid, going on vacation with my parents & motels having "magic finger" beds. You know, the ones you put a quarter in the box on the headboard & they'd shimmy & shake for 10 minutes or so? If I get a slightly off-balance load & the washer is NOT on Low Spin, the coach bed feels kinda like one of those magic finger beds!

Lori,
I read in my manual to not use it while in motion.
Here is a link that may have your Splendide manual.

Notice the part stating it should not be placed on carpet? I never did, and it's been sitting on carpet since 05, when we had it installed. It also states it should be on a solid level surface to operate.
