Strange A/C Circuit trip

I have a 2008 Tiffin Allegro with two Coleman Mach 3 A/C units.

I leave the bedroom A/C off during the day and only turn it on at night. The past few nights when I go to turn it on, nothing happens because the circuit breaker has tripped. I turn the breaker back on and the A/C runs all night no problem.

Today I wanted to run the bedroom A/C during the day. Sure enough, the breaker is tripped. But every time I reset it, the breaker trips - even if the A/C is off.

I am not very good at troubleshooting A/Cs or house wiring but I need to start somewhere.

Any Ideas?

Are you saying that now the bedroom AC won't run at all?

Are both units on the same breaker? Are you on 50 amp shorepower?

Any chance you have the wiring diagram?

Hoping that someone will be able to help if we have a little more info.

good luck!

Sokay - I think what happened was the Molex connector at the control unit shorted out because of water that wasn't draining from the condenser pan. I mean, the connector has visible char at the base. I'm no genius but I'm putting my money on that.

Updates will follow.

If you are tripping with unit OFF, either breaker bad (weak, damaged from tripping) wiring problem is 1) in panel or 2) problem in Air Cond CONNECTIONS; TURN breaker OFF and verify w/ meter that it is off (contacts not welded together); Pull Panel COVER with ALL POWER OFF, INSPECT/ remove breaker, INSPECT WIRING CONNECTION AND inspect panel/ breaker at all connections for overheat/ arcing/ damage. If all looks good, install breaker, disconnect AC wire from breaker and see if breaker will reset now? REMOVE RETURN AIR GRILL in ceiling, find/ INSPECT ALL CONNECTIONS, esp. the ROMEX 120-volt wire CONNECTIONS? LUCK TO YA :-) P.S BREAKER MAY NEED REPLACED, REGARDLESS OF OTHER FINDINGS, due to multiple trips.
