Stuck Water Filter Housing

In my attempt to winterize our trailer for the first time, I am stuck at opening the water water filter. I can't seem to get it open in order to remove the filter. I am using the plastic wrench provided. I am reluctant to put too much pressure on it so as to not break it. Any suggestions?

Get a bigger strap wrench, make sure the filter housing is stabilized so you do not snap off the mounting or any plastic piping. On our MH, I wedge a piece of wood between the filter housing and the side of the compartment to stabilize it if it does not want to twist off easily.

The water system is completely depressurized, right? If it's difficult to remove while it's installed, perhaps you can remove it and get a better grip on it.

Good luck.

Take care,
Stu

Open a faucet and see if it comes off then.

I just had the same issue on my rig and the issue was that it unscrews clockwise. I'm not sure if it's the same issue for you, but I thought I'd mention it. I would not have known to unscrew the filter canister clockwise, but I watched a YouTube video on the water filter system trying to figure it out and I saw in the video that it unscrewed clockwise.

For a newbie, it's intuitive to assume it would unscrew counterclockwise like most other things. You would think they would idiot proof it with something on the canister showing it loosens clockwise.
