Suburban Furnace Control Board Getting Wet

I have a 2016 Thor Hurricane 27K. With medium to heavy rains, the control board for the furnace gets wet and shorts. First indication is the blower running with the controls turned off. When trying to start the furnace, the blower kicks on for a few seconds, the the gas ignites. It runs for about 3 to 5 seconds, then kicks off. The blower continues to run, the gas ignites again for a few seconds, and then kicks off. This cycle repeats three times, and then shuts down until turned off, and then does the same thing for 3 more cycles.

I know the board needs to be replaced again, the problem is how to keep the board dry. I have talked with Thor and Suburban. The furnace cover does not have louvers in it, the seal to the furnace box looks very good. I have added additional gaskets to the sealing areas. Still gets wet.

At one time it looked like the city water connection might have been dripping right above the area where the wiring enters the enclosure. Replaced the fixture and monitored for a couple days, no leaks there.

Has anyone else had the problem. If so, how did you correct it? Cooler weather is on the way and I need to get this fixed.

Thanks for any and all help.

Jake

Make a louver that overhangs the open(s) of the appliance. 1-2 inches. Paint to same color. Attach with silicone glue.
Check weatherstripping, if hard or missing. Replace.
Spray hose on outside see where it's getting wet inside.

If you're able to spray the new one down with conformance coating, that too may help. Make sure to get both sides of the board.

+1 on making a small louver - just don't majorly impede the airflow.

What is conformance coating? I'm willing to try most anything if it will help.

Thanks,
Jake
