Yesterday, just before stopping for the night, I bought propane. The guy did it correctly -- I always watch. Later, when it started to get cold, my furnace didn't come on. I have it set on 65, and the cold woke me at 54 degrees.

First, I shut off thermostat, waited 2 minutes and turned it on again. The fan came on, but there was no warm in the air it was blowing. Tried to turn it off, but thermostat would not stop the frigid air blowing on us, so I fulled the fuse. So, I started the generator, plugged in the electric space heater and went back to sleep.

Woke up 90 mins later to discover frig not working. Plugged furnace fuse back in, frig running again. Frig and furnace are on same circuit! Decided to try furnace again -- still blowing cold air. So, I pulled fuse again, set themostat to off, then plugged fuse back in.

Now wide awake, I read for about 30 mins, then turn thermostat back to furnance and it starts working as usual. Tonight, so far, no problems.

This furnace has been used very little in the 8 months since I bought the RV. If this is something that needs to be fixed I want to do it before March, when the warranty runs out. Anyone know why this happened, or what I can do to avoid a reoccurance?

If you have the furnace owners manual, you may want to read it as it will cover some of the issues you may have in-countered. In short, purge the LP gas system by starting a fire on the stove top, then start other LP appliances. If the furnace does not ignite turn it off and back on. You may have to do this many times before a line is purged of air. The fan will purge the combustion chamber for 7 seconds and then start it's ignition.

Hi okmunky,
Have the regulator removed. Does any oily liquid drain out of the regulator? If so, the tank may not have been properly purged before the first propane fill was made. The regulator needs to be replaced. If it happens again, the tank may need to be purged, cleaned and another regulator installed.
