Have a SF-35 in the Coach (Original) and acting up - upon setting the Thermostat the blower just runs and runs - I think the blower is not turning as fast as before and sounds different. Ignition is never initiated, probably the
sail switch is not activating as the air flow is not enough for safe combustion? The green LED on the control board never comes on. Watched the video below.
Gas hookup is on the side of the outside/exterior wall (Have the Suburban Furnace Access Door so easy access) and on the left side (looking from the outside of Coach) and near the circuit board.
I believe it's ducted from the bottom (towards the inside of the Coach, Suburban calls that side the Front?).
Anyways, I probably could fix it on the bench but also thinking of replacing with a new one, SF35Q I guess they are.
I have not seen any videos/pictures showing the bottom duct. Once I unscrew the from the flow, should the front side just lift up easily from that bottom duct? I'm not sure what exactly is down there yet.
Looks like I could slide the entire unit out through the outside access door but again I don't know if there is anything sticking down into the duct work going into the basement. I can also remove the vent cover on the other side in the coach which gives access to that entire furnace cabinet area. Pretty dusty, would want to remove the furnace to clean out anyways.
What does the bottom side look like with the venting?
The Refrigerator is above that furnace cabinet. I tested and it runs off LPG just fine so I don't think I have an issue with the LP System.
Was thinking maybe I would go to the next size.
Looks like the SF-42 is $230 more (eBay/Adventure RV which has the SF-35Q for under $400), SF-42 is $100 more on Amazon (SF-35 around $630). I think they are the Q model which is hopefully quieter than the original.
Is the propane hookup on the Right side (exterior wall) on the SF-42 and the SF-35 is on the Left?
EDIT: I see in the video below, it's on the Left side like our current SF35, a Amazon Question for the SF42 is answered by writing the gas input is on the Right so not sure if there are different models for Left or Right side (exterior wall side) Gas Inputs.
Curious if I should be able to install the SF-42 to replace the current SF-35.
Would I notice the different in heat output? Wife does complain she's still cold when temps in low 20's when the current SF-35 was operating.
SF-35Q (#2398A I think)
SF-42Q (#2399A I think)
