WHEN I CHANGED MY ANOIDE IN MY HOT WATER TANK IT WAS IN PRETTY BAD SHAPE. THE JOB WENT WELL, BUT I HAD TO FLUSH AND FLUSH DUE TO THE WHITE CALICUM BUILD UP. I POKED AROUND WITH A RUBBER HOSE TO LOOSEN THE BUILD UP THEN WITH A WAND MADE OF RUBBER HOSE I STUCK IT IN AND FLUSHED FOR A LONG TIME TO GET THE TANK CLEAN. NOW THE QUESTION: DOES THIS HAPPEN DUE TO I USE THE ELECTRIC HEATING ELEMENTS A LOT? DOES THE BUILD UP ON THE HEATING ELENENTS OF THIS CALICUM HAPPEN MORE WHEN USING THE ELECTRIC? WOULD IT BE BETTER TO USE THE PROPANE OR WOULD THE SAME THING HAPPEN ANYWAY?

I could be wrong (as often I am)-LOL, but I believe you will get a calcium build up regardless of the heating source. Much has to do with the amount of minerals in the water source.

This will explain why. While traveling around you pick up different water types and the rod will protect your tank by sacrificing itself.
Doesn't mater what heat source your using.

When having the water heater problem or what I thought was a water heater problem. I changed the element and when a RV tech changed it two weeks later it had a thick coating on the element.
