We have a 07 Everest and today I noticed that the thermostat wasnt displaying any temp. I went to turn it on and nothing. Pulled the cover checked the fuse (good) went and check the fuse at the inverter and its good. Whats next? Also if the fifth wheel doesnt have a battery hooked up will the inverter run the 12volt lights when hooked up to 110volt? It doesnt?????

b n b, think I got it where it belongs. What is the temperature in the coach? LCD units will fade out and not show anything at lower and elevated temperatures. It may be a simple need to warm it up a bit.

If I read your post right, you did not have 12 volt lights and such at the time your thermostat had no display. If this is correct the culprit is the 12 volt system. The thermostat control voltage is supplied by the 12 volt system.

And yes the converter should feed the 12 volt systems if the battery is not hooked up. Most converters have either a breaker or fuse in the output circut. Hopefully that is the reason you do not have 12 volts. If it is not, I would suggest letting your dealer do the repair under warranty.

Also if it does not supply voltage when the battery is connected, it will not keep the battery charged.

I may have read your post wrong, if I did please let me know.

Catch Ya Later,

Don

The temp in the camper is 50. It wont turn on the furnace nor the AC. I accidently hooked the battery up backwards for about 3 minutes, would this cause harm?

You said you checked the fuse at the inverter. Did you also check the inverter input fuse? Usually when you hook a battery up backwards the Inverter or Converter will blow it's Input fuse.

Yes! It most likely took out several fuses if not the componants themselves. A check with a voltmeter for power to items is in order starting at the battery and working your way through the rig.

Hopefully the fuse protection stopped the reverse current before anyting major was damaged. But it is unlikely.......
