Thinking about a onboard generator

I have a 2017 Coachmen Chaparral 391qsmb. How do I know if mine is generator ready? I have a space for it in my wet storage. My rig has a residential refrigerator and 2 A/Cs. I would like to run everything when I am out using it and dont have an electricity available. What generator would be the best?

tons of options out there now.
Honda
Champion ( I use this as my backup - their customer service is phenomenal)
Yamaha
Generac
and the list goes on

Your best bet is lots of internet research and reviews

My personal opinion if you want completely trouble free and add external fuel tank plumbing.

Honda EU7000is
It's fuel injected - you can add remote start and external fuel
It will run both a/c's, your frig, the water heater and whatever else you want to throw at it.

Unfortunately it isn't cheap
For the same money you can get a lightly used Onan

two things i would look for:

an auto transfer switch.
a sheet metal enclosure for the generator.

if you have these it is generator ready.

ours came from the factory with a residential refrigerator and generator prep. i paid the dealer to install a generator. the factory generator prep really lowered the price the dealer would have charged had it not been there.
