We are in a campground w/o sewerage. Get pumped out once a week. We try to conserve water. Having a poop backup. Is it because we are not using enough water to get it thru the elbow when flushing?

I think you hit the backup on the head ( pardon the pun ). On our FW Bounder , there is an elbow and if we don't use enough water , we would be in the same position you are in. It happened to us once and we ran a garden hose down the toilet to un-clog it. We now use a lot of water and never had the problem again

Pumped out once a week. You should be able to use a lot of water.
Is it ever full in one week?
How big is the black holding tank?

My 40 gal tank using lot of water takes 12-14 days to get full.

Once opon a time, We did not use enough water in Black Tank and ended up with the poop pyramid and to clear it up I ended up using a garden hose with a jet nozzle on it and swished it around down there for about 10-15 minutes and flushed tank 2-3 times. Now what I due after dumping is add 5-8 gallons of water. No problem now! Kevin
