Get some water in there and take it down a curvey road to slosh things around. You could also put some detergent down the drain before the trip. It sounds like you have the dreaded turd pile at the end of your drain and it needs an RV enama (curvey road). Hope that fixes it.

M/M Hicks,
More information is needed:
Make/Model/Year of your MH
Brand of toilet (sometimes they get changed out from Orig Equip)

Respectfully, your screen name "rvdummies" suggests you may be newbies... nothing wrong with that. Are you at all knowledgeable about how a toilet in an RV works?... Do you know that it has a "holding tank" that must be emptied somewhat frequently? Are you familiar with how to hook it up to a campground sewer connection, but that you NEVER leave the dump valve open. This will allow the liquid to pass on through the tank and leave the solids to eventually buid a "cone" directly under the "throne". It can also cause sewer odors to come up through the toilet because it typically lacks the "U-trap" to create a water barrier to the gas.
If your rig has been connected to a sewer for a long time with that dump valve open, therein may lie your problem. There must ALWAYS be enough water in the holding tank to keep the solids freely suspended so they will wash out of the tank when it is emptied.

What exactly do you mean by "won't drain properly"... Do you mean that the water and waste in the toilet bowl itself does not completely drop down into the holding tank when you push the foot lever? That is hard to imagine unless you have the above stated problem.
Come back with information on your coach and how it is being used... maybe we can help you with this unusual problem.
Take care,
Jim

On our coach the toilet to tank isn't a straight down shot to the holding tank. There is a 30, maybe 45 degree tube that runs back and down to the tank. I have found that anything more than 4 or 5 squares of toilet paper flushed at the same time (depending upon how thick and soft the toilet paper is) as waste solids will have a tendency to clog up that section of tube between the toilet exit and the holding tank. I simply lift the flush pedal up which fills the bowl more without opening the waste exit to near the top of the rim and use a standard toilet plunger while stepping on the pedal at the same time. That gives the extra 'force' needed to clear the paper and solids. I kinda wish this design was a direct straight shot into the holding tank from the toilet then this wouldn't happen to ours.

Many black tank problems are caused by not using enough water when flushing. There is a tendency to skimp on water in hope of extending the time between dumping the tank.

Once you get the clog cleared, you can help prevent future problems by flushing with more water. Fill the bowl with several inches of water BEFORE you go - just like your toilet at home. Then, when you flush, the extra water will help carry solids down the pipe - just like your toilet at home. This is especially useful for those who mentioned they have a bend in the pipe that tends to create clogs. The extra water will mix with the solids already in the tank to help keep them fluid so they are more easily carried away when you dump.

Welcome to irv2 and the world of RVing, wayne & anna.
If your toilet is on a raised platform you would more than likely have a offset pipe to holding tank.
The previous suggestions with more water when flushing and leaving black tank valve closed will solve your problem.
