Torsion Assemblies A&E Slide Topper

Have a 2001.5 Discovery with a 14 ft. living room slide. The slide topper torsion assembly on the left side ( facing the slide) has a broken torsion spring.

Has anyone replaced just the springs on their torsion assemblies? If so where did you purchase the replacement springs? There are both left and right assemblies depending on how the spring are coiled.

Any info on the torsion assemblies would be greatly appreciated.

After considerable research I finally found a source for A&E Torsion Assembly replacement springs!

PPL RV in Texas has a listing for both the left and right hand torsion springs. They list for $11.19 each.

According to PPL's listings the same springs are used in all styles of the A&E Slide Toppers.

Disappointed and frustrated

Received a phone call from PPL informing me that the torsion springs I ordered are no longer available from A&E. Apparently they make more money selling the entire Torsion Assemblies. Instead of paying $11.00 for eash torsion spring, the cost turned out to be $80.00 for the left hand TS which included tax and shipping. Guess I should be happy I didn't have to buy a entire new slide topper
