We have a 2007 Pace Arrow 38-P which is still within its first year of service. I will be going to my dealer with this problem in May. The last time we plugged into shore power I had no 120V in my coach, I did have generator voltage in the coach. After some investigation I found that the electrical transfer switch would not allow shore power into the coach. The switch is a Technology Research model AECM 10040 AG, 50 amp, 120/240 volts. I went to their web site but there was no trouble shutting info there, only trouble codes. What I did with the switch for now is to put the shore power through the generator side of the switch so I would have shore power but no generator power. Has anyone had any problems with this switch or is familiar with its operation? Any info. will help.

I've been interested in buying a transfer switch to make life a little more convenient but have held off because it seems to be an area where a higher percentage of RVers appear to have problems. Because of my interest, I went to the TRC website to research your post.

I agree that there is no troubleshooting information for your particular model but there is a troubleshooting guide for the 40250, etc. They appear to be similar. In the description for your model, it says that it protects against open neutral, reverse polarity and open ground and will shut off if excess voltage.

I do have a SurgeGuard from them which does many of the the same checks as your Transfer Switch. Normally, I use a VOM to check the power pedestal but at one particular CG in Meridian, MS, I didn't When I plugged in and the SurgeGard wouldn't let voltage through either. It was pretty cold out and I didn't want to mess with it so we just used the dogbone and the 30amp.

All this is a long way of saying that the problem may have been with the power pedestal. I would try plugging in someplace else before I started troubleshooting the switch. It may have only been doing its job.

We did check the shore power pedestal and the power up to the transfer switch in my MH. All that had good voltage.

You can clean the contacts on transfer relay for the shore line run a dollar bill thru the contacts. When power is placed thru your shore line you should hear a click when TS operates to close power thru to your load center, if you hear a buzz you could have iron fileings caught between relay armature. If you have a SP there will be a delay until the SP checks the line is ok.
Did you check the screw connections on line side of TS before moving to Gen side some have found loose connections, poor connections will not allow printed ckt board in TS to funtion correctly.
Be careful when moving wires around the printed ckt board because of charged capacitors.
