"Trickle" Charger

I'm going to be in one place for four months this summer. Given the problem that I've had with my MH engine battery (it drains fairly quickly while it's being stored), I thought that buying a 1 amp, 12v manual battery charger would help.

My question is, should I leave the charger always plugged into to help my battery or just use it a couple days per month? Or is there a different way I should use it?

Try this, Trik-L-Start. Wire it in and it piggybacks off of your house batteries being charged to trickle charge your chassis batteries. Works great, easy to install and less than $50.
