I'm traveling from Yosemite through Las Vegas, Flagstaff and Albuquerque and need new batteries real soon. Does anyone have a good source for Trojan Batteries along this route?

I bought Trojans from Batteries Plus many years ago at a very good price then. Another good source would be a golf course; they could set you up with their supplier for their golf carts.

Solar power supply houses usually have good deep cycle batteries at a decent price and the southwest has several of those.

There is a big solar outfit in Albuquerque called Affordable Solar - you might give them a call. I've never done business with them, so consider this a possibility rather than a recommendation.

Welcome to Affordable Solar

i don't know about trojans, but i got my lifeline agm batteries on line from bd batteries in denver. they sell other lines also, but imho lifeline is the best. their prices include shipping. they also have warehouses in california.
i recommend them.
i bought 2 large 300 ah lifeline gpl-6ct 6v batteries and hooked them up in SERIES. they increased my capacity from 180 ah to 300 ah, a 60% increase in capacity.
no one else makes 300 ah 6v batteries that would fit my moho right side up or otherwise.
i mounted them on their sides in my under the stairs battery compartment for clearance. they are 13.1" tall, 10.3" long, and 7.1" wide. agm batteries never need water and you can mount them upside down if you want to.

Thanks for the reply, Dan, but when I multiply $330 times 8 batteries, I get a figure about as high as the recently-passed "Stimulus Package". Man, I'd love to go that route, though.

BTW....IF you wired those babies in parallel, I think your coach would be having severe electrical issues by now ...I think you must mean you wired them in series. That would give you the 300 A-H capacity. I was thinking, wouldn't I love to have 8 of them babies, pumping out 1200 A-H for me to play with. WOW!

you are right, i hooked them up in series. i fixed my post.
these lifelines will last at least 10 years, maybe longer. in your case, that would be about $264 a year. that is about the same as spending $100 each on 3 year batteries. and you get the extra capacity as a bonus, and never have to add water.
they are kinda heavy though, 85# each. i have room for 2 more under the stairs, but the added weight is too much for my battery box. then i would have a series-parallel hookup. i guess that is what i was thinking about when i posted earlier.
thanks for the correction.

Costco has their Kirkland brand golf cart batteries for $75. Don't know who makes them. They have the same specs as Trojans. Not available in all Costco's. They have them in the Phoenix and Tucson stores.
