Trojan T105-RE battery

Trojan has come out with a new addition to their RE (Renewable Energy) line of batteries, the T105-RE see here -

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m.../ai_n31585407/

The rated AH capacity is the same as the T105 5 HRS 125, 20 HRS 250, however, the warranty is longer and it weighs 5 pounds more. I gotta believe the additional weight is lead, paste etc and not the plastic case.

Has anyone seen these on the market yet and if so, what is the price? I can find all kinds of news releases but can't find anyone selling them yet.

I'm only looking for information on the 105-RE's.

Thanks for your time.

The whole line of RE batteries looks interesting. The warranty PDF is worth reading if just for what it doesn't include and the tips on maximizing battery life - those are good for any RV battery.

The 5 pounds and longer warranty for same energy is pretty much in line with the capacity, longevity, and cost triad of trade-offs, too.

I wonder what Trojan considers proper use as indicated in the warranty. I notice they don't publish the cycles rating in the specs.

It will be interesting to see how the Firefly battery project compares, too.

Bryan L,

The guy I do my solar business with checked with his supplier and they didn't know about the 105-RE but they will check on it and get back to him. I'll try and keep the forum posted.

I would imagine normal maintenance on a flooded battery, reasonable charging/discharging, etc. would constitue "proper use".

I am guessing the RE's will be in the $180.00-200.00 range.
