TST specs vs. TireTraker

Just about ready to make the plunge in a tpms and narrowed it to one of these two. I had a question about the specs. TireTraker publishes a pressure precision of only +/- 4 psi, while TST posts conflicting information and states theirs is +/- .73 psi or +/-1.5 psi, depending where you look. Seems like quite a difference. Do the TireTraker users find the looser tolerance a problem? Do these specs seem accurate?

Same question about the temperature tolerance. TireTraker states theirs is +/- 5 degrees, and TST system is +/- 1 degree. I've read that TST had some real supply issues, and problems with bad sensors. Has that been pretty much resolved?

Thanks!

I have run a TireTracker system for about a year now. It has been totally problem-free ...very reliable. I like the smaller, lighter sensors. During 2009 I ran a TST system. I never noticed the difference in claimed temp or psi variance between the two systems. I returned the TST system because I had 10 failed sensors in 8 months of use, plus two flat tires from sensors that became loose and leaked (both flats occured while parked and there was NO warning of a leak/low tire from the system).

TST does have a newer design out now. I know of many happy TST users, but in spite of the excellent TST customer support, my TST experience was not a happy one!

TST 507 owner here. I had a couple add on sensors on order and TST called me to inform me that they held up shipments until the supply issue was resolved (this summer). When the new ones came in the worked as well as the others I have. Specs are not an issue - TST TPMP always reads exactly what my analog pressure reading is. TPMS Temps are read at the valve stem and I don't know how to verify specs - but temps read correct in the morning when all tempa are the same - TST system works well for me and I can replace the batteries myself.

Thanks for the input, folks. I decided to go with the TireTraker. Spent quite a bit of time talking to Daryl at Lawrence, and am very happy with his support on a prior purchase, as well as his help with this one. Great people to work with!
