Having problems with tv antenna, poor reception, seems like booster is working, tried running a new cable straight from antenna to tv, so I think antenna is ok. Has anyone had to replace the distribution box? Thanks

First Billy, welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here. I'll be bold and presume you are talking about a Winegard batwing antenna. I would suggest before doing anything else check the coax connection on the roof. When I bought our current rig a few months ago I found all connections in and out to be loose. Before checking have a can of WD-40 & Silicone spray. At the antenna pull back the rubber coax boot and disconnect. Clean and lubricate with WD-40.Spray the gear and other parts with silicone. On the inside turn off 12V power then remove the walplate and check all connections. There is a chance the power booster is faulty, but its replacement is straight forward. Before removing any wires label them for position and if possible take a picture to be safe. Good luck.

Certainly before replacing the distribution box, try running straight from the input to the box directly to the TV (couple them right there by the box with a coupler available at many stores and Radio Shack. If that fixes your problem,You have isolated the box as the culprit.

You can not run a cable "straight from antenna to tv" because 12v has to run up the cable to power the amplifier in the antenna. You have to go through the cable distribution switch box or the wall mounted switch box, which ever you have.
