Upgrade Duo-Therm thermostat to a Honeywell RTH230B Thermostat

I need help in determining how to wire the Honeywell Thermostat.

This is the wiring for the Honeywell... Did not have an English wiring diagram that came with it. It was missing from the package. I got the thermostat at a yard sale. I found this wiring on the internet by a Google search.

RH...heating power supply
RC...cooling power supply
W....heating power supply (I assume W= white)
Y....cooling signal (I assume Y = yellow)
G...fan (I assume G = green)

This is the existing wiring for the Duo-Therm...
Green....GND
Blue...hi fan
Brown...fan (I assume this is low fan)
Red... 7.5 (I assume this is voltage)
White...heat
Yellow...cool

I don't need low fan capability. I keep mine in the auto setting.

Could someone please tell me how to wire the Honeywell. I am not very keen on electrical stuff like this and would sure appreciate some help.

Actually do a search on hunter digital thermostat on google, and you'll find a good write up with detailed instructions for this.

Best of luck!

I have found several articles about this but none of the wiring is like mine, so I am still looking for some help. Thanks

Take a look HERE at iRV2 member Ken Lenger's installation of a Honeywell thermostat in his RV's heating/cooling system. Although Ken's is a one-off installation, his schematic should give you some clues about what wire goes where.

If you PM me your email address, I have the instructions that have both the duo-therm instructions and the coleman, so it should help out. The Honeywell terminals are the same as the Hunter RH/RC, W, Y, and G, so they should work just fine (allegedly).

I just got my hunter installed today and it was fairly simple.

I have been pulling my hair out trying to get my Colman heat pump wired to a new Hunter thermostat. Any words of wisdom to mike@marshconsulting.org would be most appreciated. Mike
