Vent Caps

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if a new vent cap on the black water would help with the smell when we flush. We use enzymes and the smell is not to bad, let the tank sit for a few weeks woo.
Thanks Bob Bazley

I installed the Cyclone vent from Camco. It really helps. You can get them at Camping World.

Some unlikely things to consider:
  • We've started leaving the bathroom vent fan off until after the toilet is flushed
  • Taking the cover off the toilet base and giving everything underneath helped
  • The garden hose gets fed thru the bathroom window, a spray wand (buy from Camping World) gets put down the toilet every few months for a good scrubbing
  • A toilet brush and some Soft Scrub cleans the "throat" beneath the toilet
  • Fleetwood suggests adding five gallons of fresh water to the black tank after draining
  • One of our forum writers adds Dawn or Calgon along with water after draining the black tank

Thanks I was looking at the cyclone , I will give it a try. I have tried some of the points and hate to say this but I have turned the fan on first. Well I will learn.

  • Glad our MH came with a built in spray unit in the tank. I do have a separate hose I use for that as well as washing the rig. The potable hose only gets used for drinking water.
  • I've been doing that for years.
