Hi
I am having a problem with our w/d combo.....it seems that the washer works fine, but the dryer is not drying. I have called customer service, but they don't seem to have the answer. After reading the orperation of the w/d many many times to see if I missed anything, I am still having a problem.
I am hoping someone will have some ideas or can solve my problem.
the washer/dryer is an Equator....it is not a vent required unit....
thanks
jim

Hi corjaguar,
I do not know your brand. I do have a combo unit myself. I have had a drying problem. My problem was a bad control board which would not activate the heater. However, the problem could be the heater element or a loose wire in addition to the control board.

As understand it, the OP's dryer is an unvented model, so it probably doesn't dry by blowing heated air through the drum. Probably one of these:
Laundry Products

I'm not familiar with the Equator, but unvented machines condense water out of the clothes by run cooling water over a heat exchanger and discharging the water into the drain pipe. Warm water is less efficient at the condensing process, and the clothes may remain damp. Larger loads may also fail to dry very well. There is probably a lint trap or filter somewhere that needs regular cleaning too. Unvented machines tend to accumulate a lot of lint internally.

What did Equator Customer Service say? Do they deny the problem, blame it on you, or do they agree something is wrong but they don't know what?

I might be stupid...But it took Trace and I like 6 times to learn the controls and how to use our Splendide. But if you do a small load, take the clothes out when done it works OK. We now think we will wash in the DP and then dry at the camp ground laundry.

corjaguar,
I have the same problem with my Splendide. When I called Customer service, they told me to clean the lint trap. Now, it works good.

Hi
The brand is Equator...same as the Spendide....after a full cycle the clothes are somewhat damp. We have had the w/d for a few years, and it has been great. when I called service, they told me that I would have to have a service guy come and look at it......long story short...he suggested that I go to a authorized service center. He never gave me any answers as to what the problem could be...just the fact that it was not working properly......and to have a tech check it out.
I have checked the lint trap again and it is clean....I usually check it on a regular basis....though when the dryer was working, the water discharge was warm...now it is not near warm, but not cold either.
I was wondering if it had an adjustable thermostat anywhere.....other than the circuit board which could be a whole different ballpark game.

thank you

All interesting replies. I have been looking for a washer / dryer for my next coach, but hearing issues with the combo unit will probably opt for the stackable washer / dryer. Just seems like the combo unit doesn't handle much of a load, and when it does dry, things come out wrinkled.

The stackables are larger & better, if you have the room for them. Drying will still be slow, though, since they usually wire the dryer for 120v rather than 240.

cooksgone: call Spendide Customer Service and they will walk you through a diagnosis. Or help locate a service center near you, if that's what you want. And you can download a service manual here:

Have a kenmore stack but my guess would be that the water mixing valve/assy may not be functioning correctly (possibilty corroded up) or beyond that the electronic board is faulty (presuming has a board) other than that the timer assy is faulty
