When I winterize clothes washers or dishwashers, I simply leave my antifreeze hooked up to the water pump inlet and place the applicances in a short rinse cycle. This allows them to draw in antifreeze. On clothes washers, use a water setting of warm so you get both lines. Once I can see an inch or so in the bottom then I cancel the cycle (most appliances have a cancel/drain cycle) to allow the antifreeze to be pumped through the appliance's water pump and out into the grey tank. Done.

I will also connect antifreeze to pump inlet but run the machine in short (15 seconds) of a hot water then pump it out. Then run it again but on a cold wash cycle (15 seconds) and pump that out. Then one more time in a warm wash and pump it out. This way I ensure that all three valves and the pump is prevented from freezing. I will usually do about 50 washers a year; never had one freeze.
