The Betabel RV resort in San Juan Bautista has very dirty water coming from their well. In light of that I installed a CXR-90 water filter inline. This filter has a ceramic outter shell that filters sediment down to .9 microns and has an inner core of charcoal. A great feature of this filter is that you can clean the ceramic outter shell with a bit of ScotchBrite. I must clean the dirt and goop off of ours every two weeks to keep water flowing at a usable rate. Even with this filter in place I still get a fair amout of buildup on the screen at the water hook up at the coach, as I found last night.
I'm looking for a better filter that I don't have to spend so much time maintaining. Anyone have suggestions?

I use the whole house type filter. If the water is real dirty and doesn't taste right I use the charcoal filter.

We use the Omni whole house filter out side before the water tank and this MH has a Everpure filter under kitchen sink for drinking water, The water has no bad or chlorine taste. By using the out side one you don't get anything in the tank or lines.

We use a "sand" filter (permanent type filters out sand and large stuff) then a Whirlpool brand whole house type. We use a "taste" filter or another one that will filter out everything down to cysts and pesticides. We got the sand filter because we filled up the pricey filter with sand from my Mom's well (a 6 month filter lasted slightly over 1 month). Currently, due to cold weather, both filters are in a Reflectix lined 5 gal bucket "quick-connected" to an insulated hose. So far our weather haasn't been cold enough to heat tape the hoses & filters.

I use a in-line filter from Camping World. I fill the tank with filtered water, and on the rare side when we have a water hookup I install it in-line with the source.

I think filtering the water before in goes into the tank is better for the water heater ect...
