I seem to have water from my heater but I can't get it to heat up.

Voltage readings are only a quiver on my meter when I turn on the switch.

this is in a 1999 Pace Arrow Vision with a Atwood electronic ignition 6 gallon water heater The diagrams I received from Fleetwood are vague so not much help. shouldn't a 12v reading show somewhere on that heater

I don't seem to be able to get a solid 12v reading anywhere, but everything but the water heater is functional.

we want to go to the east coast in a week or so and I am a bit desperate PLEASE HELP!!

Donneyman welcome to irv2.
Page #7 of this PDF will give you the wiring spec of heater.
You have a diode that may cause you a problem but should find 12V within this diagram. You have a switch that someone may have to operate until it fires up.
Than the flame probe will hold flame until water heats up which could have carbon build up that needs cleaning.

Thank you for responding!!

I am in the middle of the big trouble shoot!

I found the Atwood site and followed the trouble shoot guide, so far I am in good shape, it seems my circuit board is good but I will run the test again, check all the wires and clean the contacts.

Now as for the quiver on my volt meter, well, it is the meter Good old ratshack.

for such a small heater the paperwork is piling up. I will let you know how this ends.

LOSTAGAIN---- I like the bird in your avatar, I used to fly too.

Got it working!

I just don't know what fixed it. maybe just cleaning the connectors or constantly trying finally got it to work. just don't know.

but the water gets hot.

thanks again to everyone! oh yea, what i thought was a diode turned out to be a thermal fuse. ratshack has them.
