Good morning everyone, I am having a problem with my 1988 Fleetwood Atwood Water Heater that won't stay lit. I was able to lite the heater by OPENING up the door yesterday and it stayed lit most of the day.

Today it goes out after about 1 montue. I did not have this problem until I replaced the Main burner tube. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Patrick

Hello Patrick and welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums. Be sure to click on the "user CP" button and provide your coach info in a signature. This will help in the future with technical questions without having to type it out each time.
I would suggest taking the electrical connections off and clean with some contact cleaner. Be sure to check the electrode connection and clean the tip. Set the gap at 3/16" between electrode tip and the ground post and that the tip is in the flame when burning. What color is the flame?

Maybe you need to adjust the slide on the burner tube you replaced also for more air.

This could be very true; sorry I forgot to mention that one. This is why I asked about the color of the flame.
I am glad somebody is keeping me straight.
