We have a 2003 Holiday Rambler, Imperial. We've had a small drip on the ground near the water heater but it is dry when outside water heater cover is removed. Now there is a lot of water on the ground, enough to create a pool stretching to the other side of the coach and beyond. The water drips at the edge of the outside wall & drips from the edge of the metal outer skin of the coach. !6" from this edge is also a small 2"hose but very little water seems to come from it. Under the kitchen sink is dry. Sink is in this area as well. Any ideas what to look for, how I can gain access to look for loose supply lines, drains etc. It's very congested here. Has anyone had this or similar experiences, know of someone else we would talk with about this? Anything you could offer would be deeply appreciated.

Thank You

Mike & Judy

Somewhere there must be access to the rear of water heater for the two water lines and gas connection. Because you could not remove/replace/repair unit without that access. Look around cabinets and behind drawers in the area. Access is there somewhere. If you will indicate what model of water heater it is, you may get more specific info about where to look. I have removed/repaired/replaced water heaters before a couple of times and access is never easy. Hope this helps.

Thanks ronspradly, You think the water heater is the place to start......does the unit itself leak or some of the connections, pop offs etc?

From under the cabinets, with a flashlight, I can see the outside wall near the leak but it's floor level of course. With my aging eyes, and flashlight it appears to be damp on the floor. but, I really can't be sure due to my vision and the fact I can't reach it to put my hand on it to check it out. It's right next to the outside wall. I had began to wonder if the angle of the coach might have something to do with it. We are lower in the front, quite a bit more than ever before. This site is not at all level and our jacks cant level up completely. It only started when we got to this site but could be by total chance I know. I appreciate you taking time to answer my post.

Have you looked at your freshwater tank overflow line? Is it near the area of the drip. You say you are parked off level. I have had a drip from the overflow line when parked on a slight angle that puts the tank corner with the overflow line lower than the rest of the tank.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts on my situation. This morning I emptied the bay next to the problem area. I was able to access the back of the water heater. It was found to be dry as a bone with no traces of ever having a drop of unwanted water. The inlet to my house water fiters did have a very slight single drip. so slow that it can not the the major cause of this faster leak. I'm wondering if the water heater can have a leak on up toward the front and it is causing this leak and I just can't see it without pulling out the WH? It is built up off the floor on a small framed peristal. The water is collecting under this pedistal. I started the coach to fill my air tanks. The coach leveled from left to right, causing the water to run away from the edge where it has been leaking. Gentelmen, I suspect the water heater or some other kind of valve on it that is blocked from view. Any more suggestions before I rip this thing out by the roots? I know the cost depends on what it is & who made it.

Thanks.

Try turning off the water to the hot water heater. There should be a shut off just before the heater. If the leak stops, you will know where to look. Also, has it been raining? If so the leak may be from the roof.

Check your temperature and pressure relief valve somewhere on the hot water tank. After time they often leak requiring replacement or at least a reseating of the valve.

Thanks everyone for all the positive suggestions. I found a slight drip on one of the supply lines to the house filtration system. I snugged it a bit, checked all the other couplings in the area and wiped up the water & road silt. When I started the coach to air my tanks it leveled better, causing the water to move from the drip location. I watched the new location of this puddle for several hours. It did not get bigger, it laid there, the same size. I just don't understand how the drip could be so fast when the water leaking from the filter line was so slow. Possibly an excess of this water built up and it took a while to drain it from under the water heater. The WH was high & dry, I saw no damp areas what so ever. I'm leaving for 4 to 6 days & am turning off the water while gone. On returning and restoring the supply, I can pay close attention to where any from of leak/drip could be coming from? It might be good to just remove the WH and inspect every fitting & seam before counting it off the suspect list. When we get back to the coach, I will have time to go into it better. The neighbors in the camp ground have all be simply great. We all stick together and who ever has an issue, we all pull together and solve the problem. I've gotten several pesky little problems solved while camped here. I've come to feel a kinship with the guys here in the Magnolia Springs RV Resort in Foley Alabama. I'm not aware of a better bunch of guys! Thanks to them and to you guys on the Forum. Between all of you, I have managed to get a little sleep at night.

Thanks to All,

mike & Judy,
