Water leak

So this past weekend we took our first of a few shakedown weekends. I hooked up to the park water with a pressure regulator. This was the first time we'd hooked up to water for other than filling the fresh water tank.

During the trip I noticed some water on the floor next to the bed. Having just changed the mattress I knew there was an access hole to the tank and a pump.

Soooo as we were packing up I looked under there and grabbed this picture. I found the leak at the little filter on the top of the pump but I'm not quite sure how to correct. Obviously i need to dry things up and stop the leak but how and what does this do?

Perhaps your photo is flipped, in the photo I see a water strainer under the pump. The clear plastic cover is threaded, untwist (CCW) to remove, twist (CW) to tighten. If it's leaking at the black plastic strainer housing, it looks like it's a hand tighten type fitting too, with the thumb fins to twist.

It's actually laying flat on the metal plate. The strainer is actually higher than the pump.

I forgot to mention it's function. It's not really a filter, just a strainer to keep large particles that might damage the pump from flowing from the water tank (or city water connection) into the water pump.

I HOPE... That I just fixed the issue. The outer fitting was a bit loose and there was a piece of what looked like carpet thread in the seal. I cleaned it up, dried up the interior and am working to dry out the carpet that was wet. Once that is all done I'll probably go try to make it leak again.
