After the half hour it took me to doctor up these three lil pictures.... well, never mind, pictures are good.

Last summer, my first year with the motorhome, I noticed the pump and onboard water system didn't provide a whole lot. Didn't think much of it, didn't know any better. Had plenty on shore water, at least if I didn't use that stupid lil "pressure regulator" that camping world gave me.

Anyway, I started "de-winterizing" and I didn't have not much of didly squat moving past that pump. Plenty of pressure with the hose screwed on tho.

Of course I started reading the manual (ya, really I did) and it mentioned a filter screen on the inlet of the pump. Said to "see the illustration, but there weren't no illustration. Oh well, ducked my head in there, and that clear thing looked kinda like a filter.

So I unscrewed the gray hose fitting and it came off.
Then I started twisting on the clear thing, and it all came off.
So I took it in the garage and spent some goodly time getting it to come apart, it was stuck on there good.
There was a screen in there that was COVERED with thick yucky stuff. It looked kinda organic, but let's not go there.
It cleaned off real easy, screen all shiny now. Put her back together, no leaks and I now got enough water pressure for my wife to rinse her hair without connecting up a hose!

Yea, I did something on the RV today!

Great illustration and good job. A little bleach or such occasionally will help a lot. As for the shore pressure regulator this is what I have. Partsd purchased from Lowes. Pressure regulation that is adjustable and no flow restriction.

Good job Jim. I've often wonder what that little thingy there in front of my water pump was and now I know. It could probably use a good cleaning also. I hate science fair projects growing in my water system.

thanks guys. Yup, this one is on my maintenance list, probably monthly during the season.
And I'll look for one of those real regulators on my home center trip today. Thanks.

Does anyone know if lowes or home depot carries a hyrdolife HL170 undercounter filter?
Menards does not.
