Water Pressure Issue with Allegro Bus

Can someone steer me in the right direction? I can't seem to find a similar proble posted anywhere. I have a 2007 AB and I'm not getting enough water pressure. It's fine on city water and the water pump is working fine moving water through its outlet, runs steady and always on. I've removed the filter so there is no obstruction there (I've had that problem of a clogged filter before.)

What I'm getting is low pressure moving up to medium pressure, then back down to a low stream. Slightly worse on the sink and toilet side of the coach, a little better in the shower, and even better in the outside shower.

When connected back up to the system, the pump comes on and off. There also seems to be air in the system intermittently.

Final sympton, I've had some leakage when on city water through the valve back into the fresh water tank, which then overflows.

Anyone have any ideas?

Looks like a leaky city fill valve, and the pump is bypassing throuh it.

To me it sounds as though the check valve in the water pump is faulty. This lets water flow into the fresh tank through the pump when the system is pressurized. It will also cause the pump to cycle when no faucet is open.

The city fill valve bypasses the pump when set to Fill. If it remains a bit open or leaks, the fresh tank would fill but I don't think you would have the other symptoms. Details can vary depending on exactly how it is plumbed, though.

Without a pressure gauge on your plumbing system you will have no idea of what is going on. Install one to find your problem much quicker and easier.

If your pump is 5 years old or more buy a new one. They are less than $ 100.00.

My 5 year old water pump was recently replaced with the same model because it stopped pumping. The new one is much quieter and gives steadier water pressure. It's check valve does not leak like the previous one's did. They are not what I would call a quality piece of merchandise. I am a retired plumber.
