Water Pump Cycling

I have an 2011 Allegro Bus 43 that is all electric. When I disconnected the water supply to run off the water tank and I turned on the water pump. As I would use the water I noticed the sound of the water pump and it would come on then cut off, the volume of water would increase with the pump on and decrease when it turned off. I can't figure out why as it is doing this several times over a 30 second span. Is there something closed or partially closed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

likely a leak somewhere. look at ground, back of water heater, in/under the wet bay...
if you have just serviced water heater, trapped air could also lead to this.

Thanks CountryFit but
I have Aqua Hot so no electric or gas water heater. Also no water on the ground or wet bay.

The diaphragm within the water pump may have developed a tear. This will result in a loss of pressure and cycling.

Sounds normal to me, you are using less water than pump capacity so the pump cycles on and off while in use. Turn on more faucets, and the pump will likely run the whole time. Leaks can be detected by the pump running when all faucets are off. You will hear the pump run for a fraction of a second or so with all fixtures off or closed. When that happens you have a leak.

That is normal. The pump can put out more water than your tap let's out. So it cycles to maintain the cut-in and cut-out pressure range.
Happy Glamping.

If your pump is a SurFlo, you can adj the pressure by turning the small screw in the middle of the pump head in, try 1/4 turn and test again. Might help with your cycling.

Finally! Someone who read and understood the OP.

You can also reduce the cycling time by installing an expansion tank like this:

In the same note of opening faucets, provided your faucets have screens on the end. Close drain first and then unscrew faucet caps, remove screens and aerators, stick a pinky into faucet to makes sure there is not another screen, turn water on slowly to flush, clean and replace parts. An obstruction will reduce flow as well.

Read my mind, expansion tank would give real consistent flow. A water pressure regulator after the tank would give perfect pressure every time. The expansion tank would take all the ups & downs.

mine does not have an expansion tank, and the pump does not keep cycling. op needs to find out the real cause, possibly a leak somewhere.

It's a flow issue. Pump can flow more than is coming out of the tap.
Happy Glamping.

If the pump was cycling when all water was turned off you would be right, but in this case, the pump is cycling when he has water turned on; which means the pump is putting out more than the faucet will allow to flow, so the pump cycles off as it reaches its high pressure cut out, and cycles back on when the pressure drops again because of the water flowing out of the faucet.
