I'm circling back to all of you who provided such helpful info. So my tech ordered a replacement valve panel from Thor. Took over two weeks because the Anderson Kantleak valve panel that's used in nearly every RV on the planet was out of stock.
It finally arrived in but the installation was not easy. The tech installed it but the coach still had the same problem. After hours on the phone with Thor, the tech discovered that Thor made a change to the plumbing schema midyear, didn't tell anyone and didn't have any documentation on the changed layout. After much effort, they got it sorted out and it's finally fixed.
First off, I need to thank the tech. Everyone on these boards (including me occasionally) has had unkind things to say about Camping World. But the north Jacksonville, Florida Camping World guys really worked hard on this, staying in constant contact with me with updates, etc. Once the tech thought he had it fixed, the service write-up person and the service manager all were called on to confirm that it REALLY was fixed before they gave it back to me. Since the problem was originally misdiagnosed as a defective waterpump for which I paid, they credited me back for that and only charged me to replace the panel. That's good stuff.
Glen Fee, the service write-up guy at CW was telling me that in his former days in the automotive world, when Chrysler or whomever introduced a new line of cars at the beginning of the model year, the dealers would receive a complete set of shop manuals for the new cars and even a set of specialty tools required to work on those cars. As he pointed out (and as we all know), nothing like this happens or exists in the world of expensive motor homes.
