Water Pump Surging (Video Included)
Hey everyone, thanks for checking my post! I am having a weird problem after changing my water pump from the stock shurflow 2.8 gpm unit to a Shurflo Fresh Water Pump Model 2088-554-144 12 Volts, 3.5 Gallons Per Minute, 45 Psi pump. The problem shown in the video only happens when the fresh tank is *under* half full. Did I forget to re-open a valve or is this pump starving for water flow causing this problem? I installed the twist on shurflow strainer and the metal filter is facing up, would this be the cause of the problem? Thanks for your time!

You need to adjust the pressure switch on the head of the pump for normal water flow.

Thanks Wizard. I adjusted the screw on top of the pump and it did not fix the problem. Was that not the pressure switch?

Try opening all faucets at the same time and see if you have air in the system....might be worth a try.

Post a picture of the head of the pump and I can pinpoint the pressure switch adjustment screw.

This is a know issue when installing a higher flow pump. Pulsing, cycling, etc. can be corrected with the installation of a accumulator. http://www.amazon.com/SHURflo-182-20...cumulator+tank

Is there an air vent in the tank? Make sure it's not blocked.
