Thanks for the quick response. I'm sure that's similar to what I'm seeing. I didn't actually time the blinking, but reading your description sounds like what I've seen.
I read on the fourms about battery conditioning and charging system variables, and know so little about the subtleties, that I'm concerned I may be doing more harm than good.
The two 6V batteries I have now are constantly developing large volumes of the green/turquoise play-dough like corrosion material. The water levels seem high enough (over the plates). The cables are tight, and solid.
I've scraped the green stuff off, sprayed everything with the neutralizer, and even used the red paint-like sealer (and red/green foam terminal pads) but the stuff just keeps coming back.
How would I know that I'm not over-cooking my batteries? I really need some schooling on how to verify that the system is working as it should.
