What do you use for toilet bacteria

Hi, i am currently using this product for my toilet to chew the poo lol

One reason is that using 3 per week it gives me enough for a month. The bottle stuff takes a whole bottle every week, too expensive.

I looked at my manual and it says my waste water is 74 gal, i guess thats the black tank, it does not say black water anywhere just waste water.

So it says on the package that 1 dropin for 40 gal, so i been using two and then one for good measure. I guess i am actually waisting the extra one huh?

So if i go back to only two of them then that gives me 6 weeks of use.

What do you use and is it just as economical and work just as well?

Plain water for me last 3 years. Plenty of water keeps things clean.

We are 6 weeks into a 3 month trip. Used to always use some chemical in tank (40 gal black) but thanks to many many posts, found it unnecessary to use any chemical if your going to empty black tank everytime you leave for another campground. Chemical doesn't have enough time to break down anything in 2 or 3 days.
Now just use water (plenty) along with a good squirt of dawn in between emptying tank. Every 3 emptys I use factory back flush to clean black tank out. Works better than any chemical.
Only time I use chemical now is when I put rig up for a period of time. I'll run 5-6 gallons of water in clean tank and throw in some liquid chemical.

Off hand I think you will find most of us use nothing but water. Next best will be Happy Camper.

The point is that you have a holding tank not a septic system. Stuff does not stay in the tank long enough for the enzymes to do much unless you get in the habit of leaving a partially full tank sitting for a long time. Most of us try for a tank dump in the morning or on the way home.

Nothing but water. I suspect that a lot of the folks that use any additives are not FT.

74 gal would be a huge black tank. Ours is only 40 gal on our 40' DP.

I think those that use chemicals do so to try and solve an odor issue many times.
Odors inside are typically from another problem.

I've only used water on my previous RVs, but this one doesn't drain as well unless I use a couple of the toss ins. I've also discovered it's best to use more water with each flush as stuff starts to back up. I suspect the bottom of the drain pipe is a bit too close to the bottom of the tank.

Using just water there must be tons of solids in the view window. I would think the chance of that cloging up the drain hose might be an issue. I see no solids in mine at all, of course i been here almost a month and empty it every week and use the toss ins.

I would assume that will change once i start dumping more frequently.

Maybe need to install a garbage disposal in my toilet LMAO

A three inch hose would be hard to clog for us mere mortals

If you have that much solids vs water. Then you are not using enough water.
These holding tanks should never look like a porta-potty

Your blackwater tank is a holding tank, not a septic system. Put in whatever chems you want to spend your money on. Use plenty of water when you flush, and dump often.
