Maybe they don't know the words.......or maybe it's an amplifier like a surround system. Can you change the level of the hum by turning up the tv, even tho the tv is off? Try this on the set, not with the remote. Do you have surround sound?

Hi there! Are you running on shore power? Is it a 12v tv? Mine hums (even when off) when it's connected to my PSW inverter power. I have to unplug it or plug into the factory installed MSW inverter. Very strange.

Does it sound like a 60 cycle hum through an amp.? Try unplugging tv and reversing the plug if possible.

I don't know that I fixed it but we are at a campsite with cable. When I unhooked the cable it quit!!!
