what is this thing on the side of our slide out room
I haven't seen anything like this before, and think it is some kind of latching device, but not sure. If anyone knows what it is and how it works, please share your wisdom.
Thanks

What does the tag/sticker say in your second post? Where would we be without Google?

Sure looks like a locking device. What is the motor home info., make, model, and year?

The sticker say "Dewald Industries". I've found a little on that, but no mention of this thing.
This is the main (large) slide-out room on a 2002 Holiday Rambler Imperial 40PWD. The much smaller bedroom slide-out does NOT have this.
The owner's manual has no mention of it, and there is a lot of useful info in the manual.
I suppose I will find out just what this does when I pull the slides in next week, but am hoping to get a idea before then.
Thanks

If it is a locking device it would work automatically. Dropping the little tab over a similar part. But then how would it unlock? it is resting on a tab and can't move out.
It might be a aligning device given the large plastic guard to stop rubbing of side wall.

It is the locking lever to lock the top of the inside slide to the wall when the slide is closes.

Yep, I do believe you are correct. I just couldn't wait until next week, so pulled it in and this is what I saw.
It seems everytime I turn around, I am discovering something new that I didn't know about, or maybe didn't even know existed. I sure am having fun with our new overpriced toy.

Yep, my Windsor has one exactly like that to lock the slide in.

Same here. Auto Locking device. Make sure it moves freely!
