What supplementary heating do you use?

In the past I have used 2 oil filled heaters, now I am going to trying out both an oil filled and a tower space. The tower one rotates so it can push heat.

My furnaces lowest setting is 63f so having supplemtary heat helps.

What do you use?

I use a couple of small electric Pelonis cube heaters on shore power or generator. Both of them full blast draws too many amps, but you can turn them down.
Without 120v power it’s just the furnace. That’s rare, as the Honda EU2200i is pretty handy.

I got my Pelonis pil heater for 40$ feom home depot, its a basic one.

I do have 3 De Longi oil filles radiators at home, they were 70$ each but have a GFCI
and a timer unlike the Pelonis, they are backup in case the house furnace goes out (its 26 years old).

I am happy to leave the oil filled unit on overnight, not so sure about space heaters as never have done so.

Just to keep above freezing in the coach, i have milkhouse (120 ac utility) heater, set to cycle about 45 F. If for comfort and I dont want to use the furnace I have a portable ventless propane that I can refill 1lb. bottles myself. The refills last close to 3 hours on low. I also have LPG plumbed into the coach with a valve.

Do you have to open a vent when using the portable propane heater?

There are newer ones with ODS. I had a co sensor and it wore out and never went off. Having said that common sense is the rule. If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it.

I learned last season to keep a secondary heat source. It got really cold and I blew through the propane. Woke up to 34 degrees inside. I now have a small tower heater and keep a couple electric blankets.

Webasto, heat pumps on roof and two electric toe kick heaters. Thinking an electric heater up front would be nice as of the heat loss with slide and front windows. The infra red heaters seem pretty decent.

We use a small ceramic tower from Walmart and the more convenient small electric fireplace..we sometimes use them at the same time being careful not to plug into the same circuit. One is plugged into the outlet on the dash and the other is plugged into the the outlet over the sink. We use these on electric hookup and sometimes with the generator.

We use small electric space heaters. Have three in the coach, one really small one in the water bay hooked up to a thermo cube and two in the main coach. One in bedroom, and one in main room. With all three going full on shore power, we can keep the coach a toasty 72 degrees with 16 degrees outside.

If we are dry camping, we can run either the propane furnace, or more common for us to run the Honda EU 2000 generator with the water bay heater on, and only ONE of the space heaters on in the bedroom on low along with the electric blanket. One heater on low will keep the bedroom around 62 and the main cabin 55 or so even in the coldest.

If really cold, we will pull in the slides so heating less cubic feet. Honda uses about a gallon of fuel overnight vrs much more (not sure exactly how much) propane. Enjoy!
