Whirlpool Residential Frig Latch

If you have one you know why you need it. Inserting the shipping knob gets tiring and with time the threads will fail.

Spoke with four departments at Whirlpool and all disavow any knowledge of it's existence. It has been mentioned on the Forum and saw one at the RV show earlier this month. Forgot the make of coach and thinking the manufacturer made it up for their brand.

Anyone have a part number or source?

Thanks in advance. John

This is what we use on our Samsung. One for the french door and one for the freezer.

We ended up with putting 2 bungee cords to keep the refrig and freezer door closed. We would have used a kiddie lock but didn't have the space on the side. No an elegant solution but it works.

This was discussed on the Thor Challenger Owners Unite forum a few months ago with pictures and part numbers. Do a search. As I recall it was available from Total Valu RV in Elkhart for something like $7 plus shipping.

Shell,
Many thanks, just read your post and found the one in the Thor Forum.
Will order it Monday for sure. Had the Frig open the first day of a week long trip. It wasn't pretty!!

To those who meant well and wanted to help, this unit has no handles to tie shut and the plastic latches tend to fatigue crack from the motion.

I hope others can benefit from this post. I know I'll pass it along.

John, Taras dad.
