Hello all, I have a 04 Coachmen Mirada V-10 Ford F 53 chassis Motorhome.
1st I have already changed the wiper/Blinker/highbeam switch arm on the left side of the column. It didnt help a thing. With that said, heres the problem.
After you turn on the wipers and switch them to off they only turn off 1 out of 5 times. You have to shut off the engine to make them stop. Also when you press the washer button sometimes the fluid doesnt stop coming out and the wipers will only stop if you shut the engine off. Also do you know when you shut the wipers off they will finish their final wipe and then go to the off position? Which in the my case is virticle. Well when the switch does make these go off its always were ever they are on the windshield. Any ideas on wich part to swap out next? Thanks for trying to help, Marcdohc

Sounds like you might have a corroded electrical connection in the wiper wiring or a connection that is being penetrated by water then shorting out. Just follow the wiring and see what you can find. Just starting with the easy things first.

My wife had a Chevy Blazer that was doing the same thing. It was the electronic board on the motor. I bought a replacement board at advance auto parts and it tool about 10 min to change the board.

Like I said it was a chey, but sound like the same problem. Just check with your local parts house and see if they carry a board for the motor.

I agreed with George Z, could be a bad ground or check the multi wired plug connnections for corrosion. how long has this problem been going on?

The front cap of a motorhome is fiberglass. It is nonconductive. For the wipers to work, they have to run a ground wire from the wiper motor to the frame. Many times this wire gets loose.
