Not a big deal, but I'm trying to find Y splitters like this with a larger size inner diameter so not to restrict flow. I have a Travel soft water softener which I have a splitter on both ends, so that I can have it connected to the RV and at the same time tap into the soft water side to wash the rig, or on the other splitter (presoftened) use it to water the flowers.

My question is, has anyone found the brass splitter with shut offs that have a larger inner diameter size as not to restrict flow? All the ones I've found have about a 1/4" diameter in shut off area. Thanks for you help. rockintom

I've been looking, too. Even asked at my local, small-town hardware store that carries hard-to-find items & they didn't know. If they can be found, I'd like to know.

Sounds to me like you are trying to mitigate Dynamic Head Pressure Loss, based on rise you lose 1 PSI per 2.3 foot of rise, also each bend, Y, reduction, and over sizing will cause head pressure loss. And all of this should be calculated from the weakest point, or smallest pipe diameter. I'd bet that the smallest supply point is 1/2 inch, based on this I doubt that the ID openings in the Y fitting would have little effect on the ending head pressure reaching you rig.

I know someone who found this one at Home Depot and really liked it. It’s a Vigoro High Flow Dual On/Off Valve.

If you want a larger size "Bore" (I don't) you can try this

Get the following products

Garden hose female to 3/4 inch IPT SWIVEL type connector (They make them both ways) This should be outside thread on the IPT side but if you can only find swivel types with inside threads, get a short (Close) nipple (3/4 inch)

3/4 inch "T" fitting

Two 3/4 inch 45 degree street elbows

Two Short nipples
Two 3/4 inch ball valves (Quarter turn valves)
Two 3/4 inch OUTSIDE THREAD to Male garden hose adapters

Connnect as follows (Tape the threads please)

Female connector to center of "T"
Street elbows to ends of "T"
Close nipples into street elbows
Ball valves on nipples
Hose (Male) adapters into other end of ball valves.

No restriction at all with that hook up.

Went with this set up and it works fine.....it made a noticeable difference in flow rate inside the coach. Wished it wasn't so bulky but that's OK.

Wa....making the set up you discribed was much more expensive to put all the pieces together......the 4 shut off valves were over $20.00 by them selves....but thanks for all the info.! rockin"

Only 2 shut off valves.. But if you want max flow, that's how to get it.

I do not need that much flow as nothing in the coach flows water that fast.

I need 2 shut off valves PER Y setup. Remember, I have a Y in front of the softener and one behind the softener. Thanks!
