Ok, now that I’ve decided on the model CB radio I want, I need to figure out which antenna mount I should use. A FireStik no-ground plane 3' antenna has been recommended. I’m just not sure about the type of base/mount.

I prefer the looks of the black molded base mount, but I’m not sure if it will work with an RV installation. I plan on mounting the antenna just above the driver’s side window of my coach.

On my last coach, I used a mirror mount bracket and screwed the mount to the side of the coach. Worked well but didn’t look very good.

Any suggestions?

Craig

Well. Some of the mirror mount brackets don't look bad if you screw 'em on with Stainless Screws..

Two suggestions

That is one of them, (A flat surface mount such as some mirror mounts and stainless screws)

The other is check for places you can "Stick it" INdoors (NO holes drileld)

If found on my coach that if I stick it behind the couch, I get an SWR of 1:1 (Perfect) and since the house is mostly wood and fiberglass.. Not a lot of signal loss

Don't know if you have a drivers side door or not. My last Adventurer I was able to modify a ss bracket to attach to the metal framework around the door and snake the coax down behind the rubber and metal mouldings to get under the dash. I used existing screws and the door closed nicely over the attached bracket.
I put a 3 ft top load firestick on that and it did ok.
