That's pretty much what the Firestik rep. told me over the phone. He mentioned cell phones and said they may even pose more of a hazard.

I remember the old police radios that we used in the 80's with big whip antennas. If you touched the antenna with the mike keyed up, you would burn your hand. Not so with a typical CB antenna.

Ain't that the truth. I remember one of my partners taped a fluorescent tube light to the antenna with duct tape for S&G's (fun). When we keyed up, the light would illuminate. You can imagine what it would do to your finger if you grabbed hold!
