Please provide your opinion on this.
I started truckin' when I turned 21 years of age. For many years/miles I always had a CB with me. It was the way we had to get information. Today I no longer own a CB radio. I think the Citizen Band Radio is an endangered species headed for extinction.

Get to a GOOD CB shop and have the antenna checked & the SWR's reset.... Most of the time that is all it takes.. cost is somewhere around $20 or so.

Fwiw.....I was so excited to get my CB installed! Got it in, clean install and fired it up!!! Then.....nothing! Much to my dismay, CB is dead! Now, another for of communication is good when things go south but don't expect to be chatting it up. I grew up on a truck and expected it to be unchanged. Boy was I wrong. So get a good unit, install it and don't plan on using it much :-(

I do not fancy the Cobra 75 many have already sent it it is hard to hear very small speaker and you really end up needing an external speaker if it was me and it's not I would go for a cobra 18 DX. It also has The Weather Channel's and it could scan so makes a dual purpose radio and the speaker being in the front of the radio is much easier to hear yours is very compact looking for you speaker wires everywhere not the best option. I hope that helps....Dusty

I have the hand held Cobra and only use it when traveling with a group of friends. The range is very limited.

A friend who owns a small trucking company recommends this one:
Uniden PRO520AXL
